Does anyone know how to burn/backup PlayStation 3 video games ?

Monday Nov 17, 2008

im looking to backup most of my games because im very messy and have been scratching and ruining most of my discs. does anyone know how to copy games so i have a backup of them. my computer has a dvd and cd burner and im willing to download or maybe even pay for a program that will do this.

you could try to put the info onto the computer. computers read Video Games Play Station Amazon.com’;return true;” onmouseout=”self.status=””>ps1 discs (but dont play them) so why shoudnt ps3? though this probably wouldnt work as there wouldnt be much to put the info back onto but hey, its backin up your info, aint it?

had a bit of a laugh reading the first answer

you cannot back up PS3 disc just as you would backup PS1 disc. PS3 is blueray and PS1 is just a CD. you need a blueray disc writer to do this. even if you could backup a PS3 disc it wouldnt play on PS3 console as the disc it self has a unique serial. you need to apply a software patch to bypass serial detection on the PS3 console. Good luck doing that

The PS3 does not have a "real" solution for playing copied games. Hopefully this will all change in the near future. Just keep your fingers crossed.

For more info on copying games I would like to recommend a book.
