Can I play any Play Station 1 & Play Station 2 games on the Play Station 3? or will certain games not work?

Thursday Nov 13, 2008

I want God of War and Shinobi, which are Play Station 2 Games. I don't want to buy it if I know it will glitch. Can someone list the major games that are most likely not compatible?

It WON"T shorten the lifespan. The PS3 is designed to be backwards compatitable with older playstation games. Theres a reason they have Blu Ray diode as well as a normal laser diode in there they can read both types of disks

If the ps2 game you want to play is a more popular game, then it will mosty likely work. The glitches occured when some of the less heard ofn games were played

Robert T. Reaper:

They should all work because PS3 is the monster of consoles and it can read anything, however it is not advisable to play them. Remember that the console is designed to read only PS3 games, not the rest. You can try to run them once and save them on a HD device, but don't play them all the time, that would seriously shorten your PS3 lifespam. :-)

you can play most of the really awesome games
but you need a memory card adaptor to transfer the saves onto your ps3.
p.s THE PS3 IS THE MOST BRILLIANT SYSTEM KNOW TO MAN (AND EVEN SOME ALIENS!!)
